Animal Welfare Consultation
Wildlife Health Services is a leader in animal welfare as it pertains to wildlife research. We have and continue to provide lectures and consultation to top researchers at the university level and other levels of education around the world. We are the point of the sword in this arena as more and more government oversight enters into our various fields of expertise.
AMDUCA is the acronym for Animal Medical Drug Use Clarification Act. AMDUCA allows off label use of veterinary drugs on wildlife species worldwide. This act codifies the ability for wildlife biologist and animal handlers to use controlled substances in the pursuit of their profession. This congressional act is based in our veterinary/client relationship.
Wildlife Health Services utilizes a vast worldwide network of veterinarians, wildlife pathologists, and other allied health professionals in its diligence to provide the wildlife professional the ability to reach a sound conclusion from the maze of laboratory testing that is preformed in the pursuit of quality research. We simplify the results into user friendly formats and transform those results to be applied in practical, additive management decisions.
Capture and Immobilization
Wildlife Health Services has organized and overseen decades of capture events in free ranging, semi-captive wildlife, and domestic animal situations. Wildlife Health Services has over 20 years of worldwide experience in teaching wildlife professionals, veterinarians, and other animal handlers the best practices in chemical and physical capture. The courses we provide are competitively priced, tailored to individual needs, and are offered in 2, 3, or 5 credit courses.
Training & Certification Courses
Wildlife Health Services believes certification in all aspects of chemical immobilization cannot be satisfied with lectures alone, therefore our courses are heavily weighted with practical and hands on experience for our students. Certificates are awarded after satisfactory completion of written and practical exams. Each participant will receive course materials, printed lectures, references, CDs, exams, and certifications. Our courses are designed specifically for professionals involved in animal control, conservation, exotic ranching, rehabilitation research, veterinary medicine, wildlife management, and zoological medicine.
